CCVO Releases New Report on Community-Centred Recovery

This week, CCVO released their latest report, entitled Community Prosperity Now: A Blueprint for Community Recovery. This report focuses on centring community in recovery plans, going beyond economic prosperity, for a more resilient and equitable future.

As the province moves into recovery, the nonprofit sector will be crucial, not only in fostering an equitable recovery but also in making sure that communities – all communities – prosper in the future. Community Prosperity Now asks that:

  • the nonprofit sector, the private sector, the provincial government, and funders and stakeholders work together better with re-framed thinking of the nonprofit sector;

  • the nonprofit sector be bold;

  • the nonprofit sector creates more possibilities by focusing on select key priority areas;

  • governments and community champions support an investment in social infrastructure.

Within this social infrastructure investment, CCVO has identified four priority areas for investment in the nonprofit sector: Mental Health; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion; Youth Engagement; and Digital Transformation. Throughout the remainder of this year and into 2022, with the support of the nonprofit sector and community supporters, CCVO will continue to advocate for this investment and support for a collective recovery.
